Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez arrived on Wednesday Morning in Nouakchott at the Beginning of a High-level Official Visit to strengthen the partnership between Mauritania and the Kingdom of Spain.

H.E President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, was the first to receive the Spanish guest at the Nouakchott International Airport, flanked by the Prime Minister, Mokhtar Ould Djay, the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, the Chief of the Special Staff of the President of the Republic, the Governor of Nouakchott West, the President of the Nouakchott Region and the Ambassador of Mauritania to Spain, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Djay.Spanish Prime Minister begins High-level Official Visit to Mauritania

The Spanish guest was welcomed by the Secretary General of the Presidency of the Republic, the Ministers of Justice, Foreign Affairs, Defense, Interior, Public Service, Digital Transformation, Fisheries, Equipment and Transport, as well as senior state figures and representatives of the diplomatic corps accredited to Mauritania.

The visit represents a milestone in the consolidation of the strategic partnership between Mauritania and Spain, and a new push towards strengthening bilateral cooperation in various fields of common interest.
