Minister of Equipment and Transport heads to Turkey to participate in the Global Connectivity Forum for Transportation 2025

The Minister of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Ali Ould Veirik, left Nouakchott on Wednesday evening for Istanbul, Turkey, in response to an official invitation from his Turkish counterpart, the Minister of Transport and Infrastructure, to participate in the Global Connectivity Forum in Transport 2025, to be hosted by Turkey from June 27 to 29.

Following the forum, he will attend the launch of an international platform to discuss logistics connectivity and integration issues, with the participation of ministers, experts and decision-makers from different countries of the world, as well as representatives of regional and international organizations concerned with the transport sector and infrastructure development.

He will also participate in a high-level working session on Saturday, June 28, titled “Unlocking Africa’s Connectivity Potential,” which aims to discuss ways to promote continental connectivity and its role in supporting intra-African trade, reducing transportation costs, and expanding access to regional and global markets.

The session will address a number of key topics, including: Developing the infrastructure of ports and sea ports, enhancing air connectivity and civil aviation networks, supporting public-private partnerships, standardizing institutional and regulatory frameworks between countries, and highlighting the role of investment and digital innovation in unlocking the continent’s economic potential.

The Minister is accompanied by a delegation that includes the Technical Advisor in charge of Air Transport, Mr. Mohamed Ould Lahzaneh, and the Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency, Mr. Enkida Abdallah Abbas.
