Foreign Affairs Minister Meets With EU Special Representative for Sahel

On 21 May, on the sidelines of the third ministerial meeting of African Union and European Union foreign ministers in Brussels, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, held talks with Mr. Joao Cravinho, the European Union’s Special Representative for the Sahel.

The talks focused on cooperation between Mauritania and the European Union and ways of strengthening and developing it. The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on various issues of common interest, including security and development challenges in the Sahel region.
