Mauritania, IDB Sign Financing Agreement To Promote Vocational Training, Youth Employment

On 21 May, on the sidelines of the Islamic Development Bank Group annual meetings in Algiers, Mauritania and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) signed a 36 million euro financing agreement.

Mr. Sidi Ahmed Ould Bouh, the Minister of Economy and Finance, represented the Mauritanian side at the signing ceremony, while Mr. Mohamed Al-Jasser, the IDB Group President, signed on behalf of the Bank.

The agreement aims to finance a project to improve vocational training and youth employment. It is a key component of the 2023-2030 National Vocational Training Strategy, which aims to bridge the gap in the skilled workforce needed in the Mauritanian labor market.
