President of the Republic receives the Minister of Energy and Water of Mali

The President of the Republic, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, received, on Sunday at the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott, the Minister of Energy and Water of the Republic of Mali, Boubacar Djani, where he received a message from General Assimi Goïta, President of the Transition and Head of State of Mali.
The meeting dealt with the friendly and brotherly relations between our country and the sisterly Republic of Mali, and ways to strengthen them.
Shortly after the interview, the Minister of Energy and Water of the Republic of Mali made the following statement: “I was honoured to be received by His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, who handed him a letter from his younger brother, His Excellency General Assimi Goïta, Head of State of Mali.
At the outset, I would like to express my gratitude to the President of the Republic for his kind reception and the Government, especially my counterpart, for the warm reception I have received since my arrival in Nouakchott.
During this meeting, we discussed the long-standing relations of fraternity and friendship between Mauritania and Mali, especially the Senegal River Investment Organization.
As Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the Senegal River Investment Organization, I took the opportunity to discuss a number of issues related to the organization with His Excellency.
Since His Excellency is also the current Chairman of the Heads of State of the Organization, I have sought his wise advice and guidance, which he has provided me, especially since he has instructed the organization of the Conference of Heads of State of the Organization as soon as possible.
Once again, I thank His Excellency the President of the Republic.”
The meeting was attended by the Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic, Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, His Excellency the Minister of Energy and Oil, Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, and His Excellency our Ambassador in Bamako, Mr. Cheikhna Ould Elneny.
In addition to the Malian Minister, the Ambassador of the Republic of Mali in Nouakchott, Mr. Bakary Doumbia, and Mr. Moussa Cissé, Coordinator of the National Cell of the Senegal River Investment Organization, also attended.
