General Directorate for National Security Receives Second Batch of Japanese Aid

The general directorate for national security received Tuesday, at its headquarters in Nouakchott, the second batch of aid, provided by Japan to support the national security. This aid aims to help the security authorities monitor borders, combat clandestine migration, and fight against organized crime.

The aid, which is valued at 700 million ouguiyas (old ouguiya), is provided within the framework of a Japan-funded project destined to help our country face terrorism and clandestine migration challenges.

On this occasion, the General Director for National Security, Mr. Misgharou Ould Sidi, expressed his joy at receiving this generous donation from the Japanese Ambassdor to Mauritania, His Excellency Mr. Norio Ehara, declaring that it is the fruit of the security cooperation between the two friendly countries.

As for the Japanese ambassador, he said that these tools and equipment would help raise the capabilities of the general directorate of national security.
