Mauritania has welcomed the election of the United Arab Emirates as a non-permanent member of the Security Council.
In a statement released by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad on Sunday, Mauritania considered that the entry of the Emirates to the Security Council will open prospects for Emirati diplomacy to serve Arab and Islamic causes and all just humanitarian questions.
The statement reads as follows:
“The brotherly UAE state has been elected a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for the period 2022-2023; an opportunity that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad seizes to extend its warmest congratulations to the leadership, government, and people of the United Arab Emirates, and to commend this great achievement, which opens great prospects for Emirati diplomacy to serve Arab and Islamic issues and all humanitarian issues”.
