The tourism federation elected its new executive board chaired by Mr. Mohamed Ould Cherif Ould Abdellahy and delegates to the general congress of the national union of Mauritanian employers, during the work of its fourth ordinary assembly, held Friday in Nouakchott under the presidency the Minister of Trade, Industry, Handicrafts and Tourism, Mrs. Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknass.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, the minister said her department is undertaking a 3-month training course, which ends in July, for the benefit of more than 500 young people in different hotel specialties.
She stressed that the ministry is currently leading efforts to overcome all obstacles in order to revive tourism in our country.
Ms. Naha Mint Hamdi Ould Mouknas also clarified that preparations are underway for Mauritania’s participation in Dubai Expo-2020, which will be an opportunity to promote Mauritanian tourism and allow actors in the sector to create the conditions for a partnership with other players in the field.
For his part, the re-elected president of the federation requested the intervention of the ministries of Trade, Industry, Handicrafts and Tourism and Economic Affairs and the Promotion of Productive Sectors to bring the tourism sector out of the way. its current situation.
The ceremony took place in the presence of the Ministers of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Employment and Vocational Training and the President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers.
