Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition launches Sahel programme from Nouakchott

Today, the capital Nouakchott will host a ceremony to launch the program of the Islamic Military Counter-Terrorism Coalition in the five Sahel countries (Mauritania, Mali, Chad, Niger and Burkina Faso), under the supervision of the Minister of Defense, Retirees and Children of Martyrs, Mr. Hanana Ould Sidi, and His Excellency the Secretary-General of the Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition, Major General Pilot Staff Mohamed bin Said Al-Moghidi.

The five-year program covers four main areas on which the coalition operates: media, intellectual, military and combating the financing of terrorism.

The programme aims to strengthen local and regional capacities to combat extremism and terrorism in the Sahel region, raise awareness and support the integration of fields to effectively address extremism and counter terrorist groups, with a focus on highlighting the values of tolerance and moderation and their role in spreading peace and stability.
