APIM Director General Meets with US -Mauritania Business Forum Chairman

The Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Investment in Mauritania (APIM), Ms. Aissata Lam, met, on Wednesday in Nouakchott, with Mr. Sidi Ahmed Abeidna, Chairman of the United States – Mauritania Business Forum (USMRBF).

Mr. Abeidna was accompanied by members of the Board of Directors, including Mrs. Halima Sakho Diallo, Executive Director of USMRBF, Mr. Sidi Mohamed Kaen and Mr. Ismail Sakho, Commercial Director of SOGECO.

During the meeting, the delegation welcomed the creation of APIM and stressed the importance of its contribution and support to strengthen economic relations between Mauritania and the United States of America.

Discussions focused on the various investment opportunities that Mauritania presents and the curiosity of American companies in this regard.

The USMRBF emphasized the transversal prerogative of APIM and would like to take advantage of this cooperation to work on facilitation and support structures for investment in the country which could eventually place Mauritania as an international hub.

The signing of a Memorandum of Partnership between the two institutions was decided to strengthen their synergy.
