On 31 October, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union (AU), arrived in Algiers to take part in the festivities marking the 70th anniversary of the Algerian Liberation Revolution.
The President of the Republic was welcomed at Houari Boumediene International Airport by His Excellency Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune, the President of the People’s Democratic Republic of Algeria, Mr. Salah Goudjil Salah Goudjil, the President of the Council of the Nation, Mr. Brahim Bougalli, the President of the National People’s Assembly, Mr. Ayman Abdelrahman, the Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, the Chief of Staff of the People’s National Army, Mr. Omar Belhaj, the President of the Constitutional Court, HE Mr. Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, Mauritanian Ambassador to Algeria, and HE Mr. Mohamed Ben Attou, the Algerian Ambassador to Mauritania.
The two Presidents listened to the Mauritanian and Algerian national anthems and reviewed a detachment of the armed forces who had come to pay honor.
Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani then greeted the members of the Algerian government, the personalities who had come to welcome him, the members of the diplomatic corps, and the staff of our diplomatic mission in Algeria.
Mr. Abdelmadjid Tebboune greeted the Mauritanian delegation members accompanying the President of the Republic.
The President of the Republic is accompanied on this visit to Algeria by a large delegation comprising:

– Mr. Sidi Mohamed Abdallahi, our country’s Ambassador to Algeria.
– Rear-Admiral Isselkou Cheikh El Wely, the Chief of Special Staff of the President of the Republic.
– Mr. Sidi Mohamed Ould Sidi Jaafar, Officer in Charge of Special Duties at the Presidency of the Republic.
– Ms. Aissata Daouda Diallo, an Advisor to the President of the Republic.
– Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Emat, an Advisor at the Presidency of the Republic.
– Mr. El Hassan Ould Ahmed, the Director General of State Protocol.
