Food Safety Commissioner Receives Joint Donor Mission

On 2 October, in Nouakchott, the Food Safety Commissioner, Ms. Fatimetou Mint Khattri, received a joint donor mission led by the World Bank, headed by Ms. Aline Caudill, the World Bank Regional Advisor in charge of adaptive social protection.

During the meeting, the Commissioner reviewed, with the mission, the cooperation relations between Mauritania and the World Bank, ways to strengthen and develop them, particularly in the ​​food safety area, and support for our country’s efforts to address food crises.

Discussions also focused on ways to support our country’s experience in responding to food crises by supporting the National Mechanism for Prevention and Response to Food Crises and the National Food Crisis Response Fund while discussing the possibility of developing future response plans in this area.

The joint mission includes the World Bank and two financing missions from the United Kingdom and Germany.
