President of Republic, AU Chairperson, Participates in Virtual Conference on Monkeypox Epidemic in Africa

On 22 September, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairperson of the African Union (AU), participated, via videoconference, from New York, in a conference organized by the African Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (ACDC).

The third meeting of the Committee of Heads of State and Government of the Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (AFRICA CDC) was devoted to reviewing the response plan launched by the Center to contain the monkeypox epidemic (Mpox epidemic) on the continent by establishing a coordination mechanism between countries, supporting and involving local communities, and developing laboratory capacities through the training of personnel and the provision of necessary equipment.
