Prime Minister Calls On Culture Ministry Officials To Be Close to Citizens

The Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal, visited, Thursday morning, the Ministry of Culture, Handicraft, and Relations with Parliament to ensure the implementation of the instructions of the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani aiming at bringing the administration closer to the citizens and the efforts made to serve them.

On the spot, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting during which he recalled the many achievements accomplished, particularly in the social field and which reflect the attention given to the vulnerable social classes.

He explained that significant funds have been spent to support these classes and give them hope in these difficult times marked by the negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic.
He insisted on the need to correct the shortcomings and accelerate the pace of achievements to materialize the commitments made by the President of the Republic to the Mauritanian people who must live in dignity.

The Prime Minister also underlined the government’s objective of meeting the needs of the citizens by achieving comprehensive development through good governance.

Such an objective is contained in the program of the President of the Republic, in the general policy statement of the Government, and in the sectoral strategies including the Strategy of Accelerated Growth and Shared Prosperity (SCAPP).

For his part, the Minister of Culture, Handicraft, and Relations with Parliament, Mr. Lemrabott Ould Benahahi, told the Mauritanian news agency (AMI) after the meeting that the Prime Minister urged the officials of the department to be close to citizens and facilitate their access to services provided by the Ministry.

The meeting was attended by the Minister Secretary General of the Government, an officer in charge of special duties at the Presidency of the Republic, advisers to the Prime Minister, and the Secretary General of the Ministry of Culture.
