President of Republic Receives Message of Congratulations From Italian Counterpart

On 4 July, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received a congratulatory message from HE Mr. Sergio Mattarella, the President of the Republic of Italy, on the occasion of his re-election, on 29 June 2024, for a new term.

The message reads as follows:

“HE Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania,

On the occasion of your re-election to the Presidency, I would like to convey to you, on behalf of the Italian Republic and my own behalf, my best wishes for every success in the exercise of the high office entrusted to you by the Mauritanian people.

Italy considers Mauritania a partner of growing importance, as evidenced by the decision to open an embassy in Nouakchott.

In this context, I am convinced that the strong bonds of friendship and collaboration which already unite our countries will find new opportunities for deepening within the framework of the common commitment to the stability and growth of the Sahel and West Africa.

Please accept, Mr. President, my warmest wishes for well-being for you and prosperity for the friendly Mauritanian people.
