President of Republic Receives Message of Congratulations From Portuguese Counterpart

On 4 July, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received a congratulatory message from HE Mr. Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, the President of the Republic of Portugal, on the occasion of his re-election, on 29 June 2024, for a new term.

The message reads as follows:

“Mr. President,

On the occasion of your re-election as President of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, I would like to congratulate you, on behalf of the Portuguese people and my own behalf, and wish you every success in the noble functions that you will continue to fulfill.

Highlighting the ties that unite our two countries and our two people, I am convinced that Portugal and Mauritania will continue to work to strengthen bilateral and international cooperation, including within the framework of the Western Mediterranean Cooperation Process (Dialogue 5 +5).

Reiterating my congratulations to you, Mr. President, please accept my best wishes for the well-being and progress of the Mauritanian people.
