African Electoral Observation Mission Visits HAPA

On 27 June, in Nouakchott, the African Union electoral observation mission, led by former Burundian President Domitien Ndayizeye, visited the High Press and Broadcasting Authority (HAPA).

The mission of experts, which is staying in Mauritania on the occasion of the organization of the presidential elections of 29 June, met the HAPA Council and heard a detailed presentation on the areas of its intervention in matters of election monitoring and guaranteeing fair access for candidates to the media, as well as its efforts in terms of media monitoring, training of media professionals, promotion of electoral education, and the fight against ‘fake news
