2024 Presidential Elections: Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani Presents Electoral Program to Inhabitants of Brakna
On 20 June, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, reviewed, during an electoral meeting organized by his campaign in the town of Aleg, the investment portfolio oriented toward the wilaya of Brakna during the last five years, which amounted to MRO 77 billion and 400 million.
He explained that this investment portfolio enabled the construction of dozens of educational establishments, the provision of 91 school canteens, the construction of the Aleg hospital, two centers and two health posts, the electrification of the agricultural production zone, and dozens of localities in the wilaya, the construction of 15 dams, the supply of drinking water to dozens of towns and villages, the launch of work on a major project which will allow the supply of water for 165 villages, health insurance benefiting 75 thousand families, and a cash transfer program which affected 12 thousand families in the region.
He indicated that he would undertake strong reforms to create the necessary conditions for the empowerment of young people and strengthen their role in the economic development of the country by creating employment opportunities, fighting rigorously and without compromise against corruption, and launching an agricultural revolution, noting that these reforms will be implemented while ensuring the monitoring and acceleration of some axes of the program of the first term, such as political appeasement and consultation, strengthening security and stability, which is a priority, and the axis relating to social interventions, in addition to monitoring the implementation of the Republican school project.
Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani also pledged to double investments in the Wilaya of Brakna and direct them specifically toward the areas of education and health, increase the number of health insurance beneficiaries, and provide favorable conditions for improving the performance of the agricultural sector, which occupies a central place in the local economy.
He highlighted the important role that Mauritania is called upon to play on the international scene thanks to its active diplomacy, which has enabled it to strengthen its relations with neighboring countries and with different countries around the world, noting that our country has become a model and a reference asked to intervene to advise to improve the security situation in other countries and be a contributor to the resolution of international problems.
He said that during the next term, he will do everything in his power to strengthen national unity and overcome negative behaviors and mentalities in our society, stressing the need for all to work toward making Mauritania a strong and prosperous state of law and citizenship, in which there is no place for racism, slavery, or communitarianism.
Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani called on the inhabitants of Brakna to vote for him during the presidential elections, the first round of which will take place on 29 June, to implement an ambitious development program and consolidate the achievements.
