2024 Presidential Elections: Campaign kicks off with Rallies and Speeches in a Fiery and Competitive Atmosphere

On Friday 14 June 2024, the electoral campaign for the 2024 presidency, the first round of which is scheduled for 29 June, kicked off at 0:00 am.
Until 27 June, seven candidates will compete during this electoral campaign to obtain as many votes as possible, in the order in which they were received by the Constitutional Council, Messrs:
– Mohamed Cheikh Ghazouani
– Mohamed Lamine El Murtaji El Wafi
– Hamadi Sidi Mokhtar Mohamed Abdi
– Otouma Antoine Slimane Soumare
– Mamadou Boukar Ba
– El Eid Mohamedan Embarek
– Biram Dah Abeid
The campaign was launched in the various candidates’ headquarters in a competitive and enthusiastic atmosphere with popular rallies marked by opening speeches, in which each candidate revealed aspects of his electoral programme to seek the voter’s recommendation for a five-year term in the country’s highest office.
At these rallies, enlarged photos of the candidates, expressive banners, and loudspeakers blaring enthusiastic songs and expressions of praise for each candidate were abundantly present.
