Agriculture Minister Returns to Nouakchott

Minister of Agriculture Mamma Ould Bibata returned to Nouakchott last night after participating in the activities of the mini-meeting of the Network for Warning and Response to Food Crises in the Sahel and West Africa, which met in the French capital, Paris from April 3 to 5.
Participants in this meeting discussed the agricultural situation and its feasibility in addressing the food crises in the Sahel and West Africa.
The meeting also discussed the repercussions of security, political and social crises and trade obstacles on food conditions, ways to address successive and sustainable food crises, structural investment for the resilience of food systems and the proper management of food policies.
During this mission, the Minister was accompanied by his Technical Advisor in charge of the Permanent Joint Committee to Combat the Effects of Drought in the Sahel (CILS), Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Bannan.
