President of Republic Stresses the Necessity of Rejecting Dependency, Liberation from Mentalities that View some Professions as Inferior, and the Demand for Vocational Training

His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, said that his conviction that achieving our societal project and advancing our country at various levels requires the necessity of empowering young people in order to perform their pioneering role as a force for social change and as a primary actor in conceiving and implementing public policies, is becoming stronger and more established with time.
During the iftar ceremony that he held on Thursday evening in the hospitality suite of the Presidential Palace in Nouakchott in honor of a group of young people, His Excellency affirmed that for him youth is the beating heart of our nation and the force of reform and change in it, and its vital energy and creative faculty are our equipment in consolidating social cohesion and national unity and promoting… Security, stability and building sustainable comprehensive development.
His Excellency added that he was keen over the past years to translate this conviction into the field, as His Excellency worked to reform the educational system in order to provide all our youth with equal opportunities in quality education that qualifies them for seamless integration into practical life and for effective participation in building the nation, out of his belief that youth without education are lost youth.
The President of the Republic explained that he was keen on the presence of young people in political life through the National Youth List and enabling many of them to occupy leadership positions in the management of public affairs, warning that this was done with a focus on promoting vocational training, combating unemployment, and launching a special program to support employment, training and professional integration, adding that the employability project, which will provide training for 60,000 young people, with expansion of subscription and the establishment of vocational training institutions.
