President of Republic Meets With Leader of Senegalese Opposition

On 2 April, on the sidelines of the swearing-in ceremony of the Senegalese President-elect, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, in Dakar, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and the President in Office of the African Union, met with Mr. Ousmane Sonko, the leader of the Senegalese opposition.

Earlier, the President of the Republic attended the swearing-in ceremony of the President-elect of Senegal, Bassirou Diomaye Faye, who was sworn in today at the Abdou Diouf International Conference Center as the country’s fifth president since its independence in 1960.
