Nouakchott, 24 Sep 2020 (AMI) – A regional workshop on the operationalization of the Sahel Youth Radio project implementation roadmap started, Thursday in Nouakchott. Through this project, the G-5 Sahel and the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF) intend to offer programs of public interest in its five member states emphasizing on civic education, creativity, the fight against poverty and sustainable development.
According to the G-5 Sahel Executive Secretary, Mr. Maman S. Sidikou, the project aims to promote living together and a constructive vision of the future, by offering young people a sense of ownership of their future, the reflection of their reality and an authentic, credible, reliable and inspiring content.
In turn, the Minister of Culture, Handicraft and Relations with Parliament, Mr. Lemrabott Ould Bennahi indicated that the workshop fits to the objectives fixed by Mauritania as president-in-office of the G-5 Sahel, of which the two pillars are youth and hope.
According to the organizers, the workshop should make it possible to overcome a new obstacle, in particular through the definition of the editorial line, the proposal of orientations to allow the development of a program grid, the constitution of the steering committee, or even the validation of a chronogram of the next steps ahead.
