President of Republic Meets with Executives, Notables of Hodh Charghi
His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, met, Wednesday evening in Timbedra, with the executives and notables of the wilaya (region) of Hodh Charghi.
At the beginning of the meeting, His Excellency the President of the Republic thanked the inhabitants of the region for the warm welcome he and the accompanying delegation have received, despite the difficult climatic conditions and the multiple preoccupations.
He said that the region of Hodh Charghi plays a pivotal role in the socio-economic development of the country.
After that, the President of the Republic gave the opportunity to the participants in the meeting to raise their problems, inquiries, and future vision for modernizing the national livestock.
In turn, the Wali of Hodh Charghi, Mr. Cheikh Ould Abdallahi Ould Ewah, welcomed the President of the Republic, on behalf of the population of the region, expressing their gratitude to his Excellency for this auspicious visit.
He said that the aim of the meeting is to exchange with the executives and notables about their vision of ways to achieve sustainable development in the region and to raise their problems related to the intervention of the different state sectors.
The interventions of the executives and notables focused on what characterized this era in terms of calming the political situation in the country, achieving civil peace, and establishing balanced economic development bases, by making the Hodh Charghi region an economic pole, and this framework includes diversifying the specialties of the dairy factory and increasing the manufacture of its derivatives.
They praised the abundance of milk and meat in the region, demanding to take care of animal health, establish a veterinary institute in the region to take care of livestock, expand and diversify the N’Beiket Lahwach farm, reclaim dams and water resources that the region abounds in, establish a bank for animal development, elaborate the urban plan of the city of Nema, limit random reporting and open up some areas in the region.
Some demanded to solve the thirst problem in some villages in the Edhhar district and increase the primary and preparatory educational institutions in the region and allow the city of Walata to benefit from the Edhhar water network.
Some praised the effectiveness of the country’s policy for an early response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The meeting was attended by members of the delegation accompanying the President of the Republic.
