On 23 November, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh Al-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, oversaw the inauguration of some important sports facilities that add to the significant efforts undertaken to improve the performance of the sports sector in our country.
The inaugurated facilities included the expansion of the Mauritanian Football Federation (FFRIM) headquarters with all its equipment. As part of this expansion, the FFRIM constructed offices, a conference hall designed in the shape of a football pitch, and a sports medicine center that will play a pivotal role in conducting examinations and providing medical treatments for players and sportspeople.
The inaugurations also included the expansion of the FFRIM Academy headquarters to accommodate the largest possible number of children between the ages of 11 and 15 years, in addition to providing it with the necessary technical equipment.
His Excellency, the President of the Republic, also supervised, at the same station, the inauguration of the headquarters of the Mauritanian Sports Channel, built according to new standards that will enable it to follow and transmit local sporting events.
Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, who was accompanied by the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Relations with Parliament, and the FFRIM President, listened to explanations about these various sports facilities and the roles they will add to the national sports scene and their expected contribution within the framework of efforts to improve the performance of the national sports sector in general.
It should be noted that these various facilities were completed within the framework of cooperation between the FFRIM and the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
