President of Republic meets European Council President

On Wednesday morning, The President of the Republic, H.E Mohamed Ould Cheikh Ghazouani, met at the headquarters of the European Union in Brussels, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.

The meeting discussed the distinguished cooperation between Mauritania and the European Union, and ways to enhance it and push it towards broader horizons.

This meeting comes ahead of the start of the Global Gateway Forum organized by the European Union in Brussels, in which the President of the Republic is participating.

Global Gateway is an initiative launched by the European Union in December 2021, which aims to create partnerships and investments around the world in infrastructure, health systems, education, scientific research, railways, building materials, highways, energy, iron and steel.
