Human Rights Commission, African Delegation Discuss Elections

On 12 May, in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Ould Brahim, the Secretary General of the National Human Rights Commission, met with the members of the African election observation delegation led by an official in the Department of Political Affairs, Peace, and Security.

The talks focused on issues relating to the 13 May elections and ways likely to ensure the success of the African mission.

The meeting was also an opportunity to review the action taken by the commission to prepare and accompany the elections and the post-election period.
