On 9 December, in Nouakchott, Ambassador Amar Zouhri, the Palestinian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, who is leading a delegation of his country visiting Mauritania, congratulated our country for its positions in favor of the Palestinian cause in regional and international forums.
During a news conference in the presence of Mr. Abdellah Ghassim Lahlouh, the Secretary General of the Ministry of agriculture, Mr. Zouhri indicated that the Ambassador of Palestine in Mauritania had transmitted a written message from His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, to his brother the President of the State of Palestine, His Excellency Mr. Mahmoud Abass, in which he affirmed Mauritania’s constant position supporting the Palestinian people to recover all their rights.
Mr. Zouhri said that the visit of the Palestinian delegation is in Mauritania to discuss ways that allow Mauritania to benefit from the Palestinian experience in several important areas, including agriculture.
For his part, the Palestinian official expressed his satisfaction with the excellent level of bilateral relations before indicating that the delegation prioritizes the agricultural sector. He assured that by introducing new technologies in the execution of the project, Mauritania would ensure its self-sufficiency in the field of cereals, particularly wheat. He also noted that the project is concerned with the improvement of livestock.
Finally, Mr. Abdellah Ghassim Lahlouh expressed eagerness to enhance the cooperation between the two countries and involve the private sectors of the two brotherly countries to achieve food security in the Arab world.
