On 8 November, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, visited the Mauritanian pavilion organized within the framework of the activities scheduled at the 27th World Climate Summit in Sharm El Sheikh in the Arab Republic of Egypt.
During this visit, the President of the Republic was informed of the components of this pavilion which presents an eloquent image of the efforts made by Mauritania to strengthen its strategic position in the face of the effects of climate change.
This pavilion, organized by the Ministry of Oil, Energy, and Mines, presents, in a well-designed way, the many actions undertaken under the national energy policy, particularly the green hydrogen production option, the global partnership between the public and private sectors to meet the dual challenge of social and economic transformation, and the opportunities for the production of clean hydrogen in Mauritania.
The events and technical meetings organized within this framework aim to raise awareness of Mauritania’s enormous clean energy resources and to highlight the efforts made by our country to meet the challenges of climate change, particularly the challenge of resilience in the face of the risk of poverty and precariousness that climate change imposes on populations.
