President of Republic Praises Level of Mauritania-China Historical Relations
On 23 October, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, paid tribute to the excellent level of historical and strategic Mauritania-China relations and to the fruitful cooperation between our country and the People’s Republic of China in the various fields.
This is indicated in a message sent by the President of the Republic to His Excellency Mr. Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China on the occasion of his reelection as Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party.
Here is the full text of the message:
“Excellency,
It is a pleasure for me to extend to you, on behalf of the Mauritanian government and people as well as on my own behalf, my warm congratulations on the occasion of the confidence placed in you by the Chinese people by reelecting you as Secretary General of the Chinese Communist Party, wishing you more health, happiness, and success in your noble missions in the service of the development of your friendly country.
On this occasion, I would like to reiterate to you our great consideration for the important achievements that you have made and the great gains made for the benefit of the Chinese people in the field of overall development and modernization of the State and for the central place that now occupies the People’s Republic of China at the international level.

I also take this opportunity to pay tribute to the excellent level of Mauritania-China historic and strategic relations and to the fruitful cooperation between our two countries in the various fields and to express to you our strong will and our constant determination to develop and strengthen these relations in accordance with the aspirations of our two friendly people for further development and prosperity.
