On 8 October, a ministerial delegation made up of Messrs. Kane Mamoudou Ousmane, Isselmou Ould Ahmed M’Badi, and Mohamed Lamine Ould Dhehbi, respectively the ministers of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors and Finance, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania (BCM), left Nouakchott for Washington to take part in the annual meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), which will be held from October 10 to 16.
The meetings will focus on issues of global interest, including international economic prospects, poverty eradication, and economic development.
These meetings – which will take place at a time when the world is facing challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the war in Ukraine, and the global food and energy crisis – will also focus on crucial issues such as inclusive growth, the human cost of the food and energy crisis, investment in education, and climate change.
