On 23 August, in Nouakchott, Mr. Kattar Ould Cheibani, the Minister of Culture, Youth, Sports, and Relations with Parliament, received Ms. Adama Dian Barry, the resident representative of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to Mauritania.
During the meeting, the Minister insisted on the development of the partnership in several areas including agriculture to which the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani attaches particular interest. He stressed the importance of joining efforts so that young people contribute to the development of the country in all areas, especially agriculture and sustainable development.
Mr. Kattar Ould Cheibani also praised the efforts of partners in the development of civic service, expressing the importance of volunteering, and the work done to institutionalize and legislate it, before revealing that next Wednesday will see the launch of the platform of volunteers, within the framework of the Youth Connect activity, organized by the General Directorate of Youth with the cooperation of the UNDP and the National Program for Volunteering and Sustainable Development.
For his part, Ms. Adama Dian Barry said that the UNDP is working to help implement national strategies and support them, stressing, in this context, the revitalization of all national listening centers and the possibility of increasing them.
