Mauritania, China Sign Memorandum of Understanding in Health Field

The Minister of Health, Mr. Mokhtar Ould Dahi, and the Chinese Ambassador to Mauritania, Mr. H.E. Mr. Li Baijun, signed Thursday a memorandum of understanding to dispatch a Chinese medical team to Mauritania during the period of 2022-2028.

This memorandum comes within the framework of strengthening of the cooperation between Mauritania and China in the health field. The Medical team, consisting of 21 people, will be distributed to Kiffa Hospital, the National Institute for Public Health Research, the National Hospital Center and the Sadagha Hospital.

In a speech on this occasion, the minister said that this memorandum of understanding aims to renew the health cooperation mission that China has been providing to Mauritania since 1968, noting that it will enhance the Mauritanian medical capacities.

For his part, the Chinese ambassador declared that this memorandum comes to renew the cooperation with the Chinese medical mission from 2022-2028. He thanked the Mauritanian ministry of health for their fruitful cooperation with the Chinese embassy in Mauritania.
