New Batch of Tourists Arrives in Atar

On 15 January, the 6th flight from France arrived at Atar International Airport with 85 tourists on board as part of the scheduled flights within the tourist season 2021-2022.

The regional director of the National Tourism Office, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soumbara, said in a statement to the Mauritanian News Agency that the continued arrival of these flights, despite the difficult world health conditions, is a definitive indication that Mauritania is an attractive tourist destination.

He pointed out that the tourism sector provides economic income that contributes to reviving the economic and social development in the state.

The tourist, Mr. Nicolas Bellic, expressed his joy at visiting Mauritania for the third time, explaining that he came with some friends to enjoy the country’s tourism potentials, including deserts, mountainous heights, and ancient archaeological areas.

He added, “I am undoubtedly lucky, as I will enjoy my third experience to learn about the unique archaeological features of the Adrar region and rare natural tourist areas.”
