His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, returned to Nouakchott on Tuesday evening from Abidjan, concluding a friendly and working visit to Côte d’Ivoire.
Upon his arrival at Nouakchott–Oumtounsy International Airport, His Excellency was received by Prime Minister El Moctar Ould Djay, Minister Secretary General of the Presidency Moulay Ould Mohamed Laghdaf, Presidential Adviser Aissata Ba Yahya, and several members of the government and senior officials.
The welcoming delegation also included Justice Minister Mohamed Ould Soueidatt; Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug; Minister of Defense, Retirees, and Children of Martyrs’ Affairs Hanena Ould Sidi; Minister of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine; the President’s Chief of Staff, Major General Mohamed Mokhtar Cheikh Ould Menny; Deputy Director of the Presidential Cabinet Gandega Fatimata; Nouakchott-West Wali Hamoud Ould M’hamed; and Vice President of the Nouakchott Regional Council Hawa Sidibe.
President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including Nany Ould Chrougha, Minister in charge of the Presidential Cabinet; Mauritania’s Ambassador to Côte d’Ivoire, Siniya Mint Sidi Heiba; Major General Saydou Samba Dia, Director General of External Security and Documentation; and several presidential advisers and senior officials, including Ahmed Salem Ould Mohamed Fadel, Sidi Mohamed Ould Sidi Jaafar, Sidi Mohamed Ould Ghaber, and State Protocol Director General El Hassen Ould Ahmed.
