His Excellency the President of the Republic, M. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, arrived Saturday evening at Freetown-Lungi International Airport, in the Republic of Sierra Leone, to participate in the Summit on the Future of Regional Integration in West Africa as well as the proceedings of the 69th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
His Excellency the President of the Republic was welcomed at the foot of the aircraft steps by His Excellency the President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, M. Julius Maada Bio, accompanied by several high-ranking state officials. At the end of the welcoming ceremony, His Excellency the President of the Republic and his Sierra Leonean counterpart reviewed a detachment of the honor guard, which rendered them military honors.
His Excellency the President of the Republic is accompanied by a high-level delegation composed of:
– Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, Minister in charge of the Cabinet of the President of the Republic;
– Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad;
– Mr. Lahbib Lahbib, Chargé d’Affaires at the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in Freetown;
– Mr. El Hacen Ould Ahmed, Director General of State Protocol.
