Mauritania takes part in the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group

The Minister of Economy and Development, Mr. Abdallahi Ould Suleiman Ould Cheikh Sidiya, accompanied by His Excellency the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mr. Mohamed Lemine Ould Dhehby, participated this Thursday morning in the annual meetings of the Islamic Development Bank Group held in the Azerbaijani capital, Baku.

The participation of the Mauritanian delegation in these meetings comes within the framework of strengthening partnerships with the Islamic Development Bank Group and mobilizing the financing required for national projects, as well as actively contributing to the formulation of shared development visions that serve economic integration and the achievement of sustainable development.

The proceedings of this session were launched under the high patronage of His Excellency the President of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and with the broad participation of ministers of finance, economy, planning, and international cooperation from the Group’s member countries, alongside leaders of international financial institutions, development experts, and financial policymakers from around the world.

This year’s meetings are being held under the theme: “Regional Integration as a Driver of Sustainable Prosperity,” reflecting the Group’s new direction within the framework of its ten-year plan (2026–2035), aimed at promoting inclusive growth and strengthening regional resilience.

The agenda of this session includes the official meetings of the Boards of Governors, forums dedicated to the private sector, and high-level dialogues highlighting development priorities and addressing current economic challenges.

The program will also feature events dedicated to discussing Islamic finance, youth employment, climate change adaptation, innovation, as well as artificial intelligence applications and the digital economy, sustainable sukuk, health security, and regional connectivity in the fields of energy and trade.
