Livestock Minister Delivers Letter from President of Republic to President of the Comoros

Mr. Sid’Ahmed Ould Mohamed, Minister of Livestock, delivered a written message from His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to His Excellency the President of the Union of the Comoros, Mr. Azali Assoumani, during a special reception granted to him this Tuesday in the capital, Moroni.

The letter addressed ways to strengthen cooperation relations between the two brotherly countries and matters of common interest.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the Minister stated that the encounter was fruitful and important, providing an opportunity to exchange views on a number of issues of mutual interest.

He added that Mauritania and the Comoros are bound by solid fraternal relations and ongoing cooperation in various international forums, owing to their shared membership in a number of regional and international organizations, including the League of Arab States, the African Union, and the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, as well as their shared connection to the Francophone community.

He further noted that the discussions focused on ways to enhance joint cooperation and coordination, as well as a number of priority issues, notably youth employment, vocational training, women’s empowerment, climate change, and current international challenges.

Concluding his statement, the Minister expressed his gratitude to His Excellency the President of the Union of the Comoros, as well as to the government and people of the Comoros, for the warmth of the welcome and the generosity of the hospitality.
