National Assembly Speaker Receives Parliamentary Delegations Participating in Ceremony to Award President of Republic the “Al-Thuraya” Medal

On 2 June in Nouakchott, the Speaker of the National Assembly, Mr. Mohamed Bamba Meguett, received a number of heads of parliamentary delegations participating in the official ceremony to present His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, with the “Thuraya” Medal, in recognition of his efforts to promote the values of peace, dialogue, and cooperation, and in appreciation of the growing role Mauritania plays in strengthening relations among the countries and institutions within the Francophone community.

The visiting delegations included the President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Francophonie, Mr. Eton Nzok Hilarion; the President of the National Assembly of Chad, Mr. Ali Koloto Chaimé; the Vice President of the House of Representatives of the Kingdom of Morocco, Mr. Mohamed Sabari; and the Vice President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Côte d’Ivoire, Mr. Diara Cédric Tédian.
