On June 2 in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Zeine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, President of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM), received H.E. Mr. Hamad Ghanem Hamad Al-Mahri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Mauritania.
The meeting focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between the two brotherly countries, particularly in the economic and commercial sectors, by expanding partnership opportunities among economic stakeholders and reinforcing areas of cooperation that serve their shared interests.
The two sides also discussed a UAE initiative to support and empower women entrepreneurs by launching a program to develop their skills and strengthen their participation in economic activity, thereby enhancing the role of women in the business sector.
Mr. Ould Cheikh Ahmed expressed his appreciation for the initiative and praised the efforts underway to build the capacity of Mauritanian businesswomen.
He reaffirmed the UNPM’s full readiness to support and facilitate this initiative, which will help advance economic and trade relations between Mauritania and the UAE toward new horizons of cooperation and integration.
