Foreign Affairs Ministry summons Malian ambassador

On 21 May, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, summoned the Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Mauritania, His Excellency Mr. Bakary Doumbia, to the Ministry’s headquarters in Nouakchott, following the events that took place at the Mauritanian Embassy in Bamako.

The Minister informed His Excellency the Ambassador of Mauritania’s categorical rejection of such actions, emphasizing the need to respect diplomatic missions and adhere to the principles of mutual respect between the two brotherly countries, as well as to comply with relevant international agreements and norms.
