Foreign Affairs Minister Meets With Russian Delegation

On May 21 in Nouakchott, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, received a delegation from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, currently visiting Mauritania to participate in political consultations between the two countries.

The Russian delegation is headed by Mr. Alexander Kinshchak, Director of the Middle East and North Africa Department at the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and includes Ms. Anastasia Veselovskaya, Second Secretary in the same department.

The meeting addressed cooperation relations between Mauritania and the Russian Federation and ways to strengthen and develop them in a manner that serves the mutual interests of both countries. It also exchanged views on a number of issues of common interest.
