Nairobi

On 12 May, His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, took part in the ‘Africa Forward’ summit in the Kenyan capital, Nairobi, alongside a number of African leaders, the French President, the UN Secretary-General, and the Chairperson of the African Union Commission, as well as representatives of international financial institutions and development partners.

The summit is exploring ways to strengthen economic and trade partnerships between France and African countries by discussing key challenges related to economic growth, digital transformation, energy, and reform of the international financial system, as well as working to integrate African priorities into the global economic system.

The summit also provides an opportunity to exchange views on mechanisms to support investment and sustainable development on the continent, and to strengthen cooperation between African countries and their international partners, thereby contributing to advancing development pathways and achieving shared interests.
