On 28 April, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, returned to Nouakchott following a visit to the United Arab Emirates and Medina, in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, where he had the honor of paying respects to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and performing prayers at the Prophet’s Holy Mosque.
Upon his arrival at Nouakchott Oumtounsi International Airport, he was warmly received by the Prime Minister, Mr. El Moctar Ould Djay; the Secretary-General of the Presidency of the Republic, Mr. Moulaye Ould Mohamed Laghdaf; Presidential Advisors Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Cheikh Abdallah Ben Boya and Ms. Aissata Ba Yahya; the Minister of Justice, Mr. Mohamed Ould Soueidatt; the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug; the Minister of Defense, Retiress, and Children of Martyrs’ Affairs, Mr. Hanena Ould Sidi; the Minister of Interior, Decentralization, and Local Development, Mr. Mohamed Ahmed Ould Mohamed Lemine; the President’s Chief of Staff, Major General Mohamed Mokhtar Cheikh Menni; the Wali of Nouakchott West, Mr. Hamoud Ould M’hamed; and the Chairwoman of the Nouakchott Region, Mrs. Fatimetou Mint Abdel Malick.
During his return, President El Ghazouani held bilateral talks with His Excellency the President of Chad, Mr. Mahamat Idriss Deby Itno.
The President was accompanied by a high-level delegation, including:
– Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, Minister in charge of the President’s Cabinet;
– Mr. Ahmed Ould Bah, also known as Hmeida, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic; and
– Mr. El Hassen Ould Ahmed, Director General of State Protocol.
