Minister of Livestock Development Holds Working Session with Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Livestock
The Minister of Livestock Development, Mr. Sidi Ahmed Ould Mohamed, held a working session yesterday, Monday, in Brasília with the Brazilian Minister of Agriculture and Livestock, Mr. André de Paula.
Discussions during the meeting—which marked an important milestone in building a structural partnership between the two countries—focused on finalizing a strategic memorandum of understanding, supported by an action plan covering the period 2026–2031.
Both parties reaffirmed their firm commitment to expediting administrative procedures to ensure the immediate implementation of the cooperation framework, which aims to bring about a sustainable transformation in the livestock development landscape in Mauritania.
The two ministers reaffirmed their commitment to the principles of “South-South,” with the Minister of Livestock Development affirming Mauritania’s unwavering support for the “Declaration of Commitment to the Global Alliance Against Hunger and Poverty,” a flagship initiative of the Brazilian presidency, and praising the Brazilian model, whose remarkable successes serve as an ideal reference for the development of the animal development sector in our country.
