Nouakchott

The Minister for Education and Educational System Reform, Ms. Houda Babah, received a delegation from the Islamic Development Bank on Tuesday evening at her office in Nouakchott. The delegation was led by Mr. Mohamed Alusta, Head of Social Infrastructure Operations at the Bank’s regional office in Rabat.

The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations, as well as to review aspects of cooperation and the progress of joint projects.

During the meeting, the Minister outlined the structural reforms implemented in the education sector, as well as the key reform initiatives that could be the subject of cooperation, notably digital transformation, support for inclusive and equitable schooling, and the promotion of science and technology education.

For his part, the head of the Islamic Development Bank delegation affirmed his institution’s readiness to assist the sector and support it in addressing the challenges associated with implementing these initiatives, notably through the sharing of successful experiences and the strengthening of human resource capacities.

Both parties agreed to strengthen consultation and regular dialogue within a comprehensive framework that the technical teams will work to develop further, emphasizing that this ongoing support is essential to ensuring sustainable backing for the implementation of the reforms.
