The Minister of Education and Educational System Reform, Ms. Houda Babah received a delegation from the International Monetary Fund led by Mr. Felix Fischer at her office in Nouakchott on Tuesday evening.
The meeting provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and review the progress of economic and social reforms, particularly those related to the education sector, as well as the challenges faced and the measures adopted to address them.
During the meeting, the Minister reviewed the structural reforms implemented in the field of education and the progress made since the adoption of the Education Framework Law in 2022.
For its part, the IMF mission affirmed its readiness to support the sector in addressing challenges related to access to education and improving its quality.
The two parties agreed to strengthen consultation and regular exchange within a comprehensive framework, and emphasized that structured support is essential to ensure continued backing for the implementation of reforms.
