Real Estate Minister Presents a Comprehensive Reform Plan for the Sector at an International Conference in Colombia

The Minister of Real Estate, State Properties, and Real Estate Reform, Mr. Mamoudou Mamadou Niang, participated Wednesday, in the proceedings of the Second International Conference on Agrarian Reform and Rural Development, held from February 24 to 28 in the city of Cartagena, Republic of Colombia.
In a speech delivered on the occasion, the Minister affirmed that Mauritania has embarked on implementing a comprehensive reform of the real estate sector and its regulation, ensuring the establishment of transparent, inclusive, and sustainable real estate governance that contributes to stimulating economic development, enhancing social cohesion, and preserving natural resources.

 

The Minister pointed out the sector’s intention to organize a roundtable for partners in Nouakchott, in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), with the aim of unifying visions, identifying common challenges, and formulating integrated directions to establish a comprehensive and coherent land reform. He called on various partners to intensify efforts and enhance joint work to address the challenges hindering investment in the land sector, contributing to supporting the country’s economic and developmental capacities.
