Minister of Culture heads to Paris to participate in UNESCO meetings on cultural diversity

Nouakchott

Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesperson Mr. El Houssein Ould Medou, , left Nouakchott early Monday morning for Paris to participate in the 19th session of the Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions, held at the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) headquarters from 17 to 20 February.

It should be noted that our country was elected a member of this committee in June last year (2025) during the tenth session of the Conference of Parties, an election that reflects international recognition of Mauritania’s efforts to preserve its cultural identity and promote pluralism.
