Defence Minister heads to Germany to participate in Munich Security Conference 2026

The Minister of Defence, Pensioners’ Affaires and Sons of Martyrs, Mr. Hanena Ould Sidi, left Nouakchott yesterday evening, Wednesday, for Germany to participate in the 62nd Munich Security Conference (MSC 2026), scheduled to take place between 13 and 15 February.

The Minister is participating in this conference at the invitation of German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius.

The conference, which is a vital platform for deepening strategic discussions and strengthening international cooperation to address the most pressing challenges, will address key topics including European security and defence, the future of transatlantic relations, the promotion of multilateralism, regional conflicts, and the implications of technological developments for global security.
